For Richard's birthday, I decided to make him a Chicago Blackhawk's cake.

That insignia sure is complicated once you start applying it in icing. But in the end I was pleased with the results.

The birthday boy was too!

Even better? The checkerboard interior.

2010 was a good year. A Stanley Cup win for the 'Hawks and a great birthday for Richard.

Fabulous cake; fabulous guy... what more do you need? Looks like his birthday was well celebrated!
It thought you outdid yourself with the Blackhawks design, but to do a checkerboard cake to boot.
You are amazing!
You rock!
Great cake.
How could Richard possibly eat it? (Just joking).
Great, Ronna. Thanks for letting letting me know about this post. I think the checkerboards are fun cakes. :-)
