Louise Bourgeois

The wonderful artist Louise Bourgeois, who created the marvel "Maman" which sits in front of the National Art Gallery in Ottawa -- which I visited last fall -- died at the age of 98 this week. She was still creative till her last days. Wow.

There was an interesting obit of Louise Bourgeois in the Globe & Mail last week. It explained what the spider symbolized for her (all about her mother, naturally). She was one of the great 20th century artists and her stuff is truly compelling. Love the photo of you beneath Maman -- all the reds, your jacket, the leaves, your hair -- fabulous!

Noticed this one in the LinkWithin pics. She was quite an artist. Great photo of you with "Maman".
