Phoebes Fledging
These three baby phoebes were in their nest, just about ready to fly..
...and the next think we knew, they were out of their nest and in mid-air.
This poor little fellow was gripping onto the log house for dear life but in a few seconds was airborne again.

Oh, how great to see them fledging! That first flight must be kind of scary for them. Ours will go any day now.
I really like Phoebes. I remember the first time I ever saw one, when Peter identified some living near our house, years ago. How lucky you were to be able to capture the first flight of these young ones.
